What these technologies are

A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to keep. Local storage does a similar job but holds more and is never sent to a server automatically. This site uses both, and this page lists all of them.

None of the tools needs a cookie to work. Everything in the strictly necessary category below is browser storage that stays on your device.

Strictly necessary, set without consent

wsm.profile.v1 (local storage, no expiry)

Holds the results you have chosen to save, so the face shape you found can pre-fill the hairstyle and glasses tools. Never sent anywhere. Removed instantly from the saved results page.

theme (local storage, no expiry)

Remembers whether you picked light or dark mode so the site does not flash the wrong one on your next visit. Never sent anywhere.

wsm.consent.v1 (local storage, no expiry)

Records the choice you make in the cookie banner, so you are not asked again on every page. It holds one word, granted or denied. You can change it from the cookie choices link in the footer. Never sent anywhere.

Advertising, set only with consent

No advertising cookie is set, because there is no advertising on this site. If that changes, the partner will be named here first, its cookies would be set by that partner rather than by this site, and none of it would happen before you had given consent.

Measurement

Google Analytics 4 counts page views and which tools get used. It sets _ga and _ga_GLX3PYXZ50 cookies to tell one visit apart from the next. It runs under Google Consent Mode v2, which means the permission it has depends on where you are.

In the UK, the European Economic Area and Switzerland it is switched off until you press Accept. Nothing is stored before that, and if you press Reject nothing is stored at all. Everywhere else it is on by default and you can switch it off at any time using the cookie choices link in the footer, which opens the same two buttons.

Advertising signals are refused in every region, whichever choice you make, because this site runs no advertising. Google receives no data for ad targeting or ad measurement from this site.

Microsoft Clarity records how pages are used: clicks, scrolling and a replay of the session. It sets _clck and _clsk under the clarity.ms domain rather than this one. It follows the same regional rule as Google Analytics, so in the UK, the European Economic Area and Switzerland it does not load at all until you accept, and elsewhere it is on by default with the same one-click opt-out.

Neither tool ever receives the photographs you use in the tools. Those are read in your browser and are never uploaded anywhere, which is true whichever choice you make.

How to remove them

• To delete your saved results only, use the clear action on the saved results page. It takes one click and removes everything this site holds on your device.
• To delete everything, clear cookies and site data for this domain in your browser settings. Every major browser has this under Privacy.
• To stop personalised advertising across all sites, use the industry opt-out pages at aboutads.info and, in Europe, youronlinechoices.eu.
• Blocking all cookies will not break any tool on this site. The tools do not depend on them.

Changes

If a new cookie is introduced, it will be added to the tables above and the last updated date at the top of this page will change.
